The Laurel Rod and Gun Club is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1923. The organization's purpose is to foster a casual association of hunting and fishing enthusiasts and to provide a place to exchange experiences and to hone their skills.
There is no longer a meeting facility or trap range at Riverside Park.
The new long-range shooting facility north of the Laurel Airport is now open and fully functional. The new range has two rifle ranges, one sight in range and one long range. The sight in range has paper backers at 25yds, 50yds, and 100yds. The Long range has steel targets at 400yds, 600yds, 800yds, and 1000yds. We are currently working on getting life size silhouettes on the long range as well. The range also has two pistol bays.
The Club still maintains and plans to continue to maintain the range out 3 miles east of Silesia, MT on Moser Dome Road (Silesia Road).
This is planned to continue even after the new range gets done. We have added some nice pistol targets to shoot at and a spot to shoot shot guns. There is a patterning area and place to throw your own clay targets. Just follow the signs to the west of the parking area.
